Sliding doors run in pairs on IKEA's track and overlap, so the panel face is wider than half the opening (75 → 772mm, 100 → 1019mm). The proprietary alu frame/track is reused — measure your frame before ordering.

What are the shaker v-groove fronts made from?
Each front is machined one-piece from moisture-resistant MDF — the shaker v-groove detail is cut into a single board rather than assembled from parts, so there are no joints to move or telegraph through paint.
How much do shaker v-groove doors for a IKEA PAX wardrobe cost?
Shaker v-groove fronts start at £43.00 excluding VAT, and every size on this page shows its own price before you add anything to a project. Prices are per door and include the machining — there is no minimum order.
Do the doors come primed or painted?
Neither — every door is supplied sanded. We machine it from moisture-resistant MDF and then sand the faces, edges, panels and mouldings to 240 grit, so it arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your primer. Seal it with a primer made for MDF before your top coat, and paint it any colour you like.
What is the V-groove for?
It's a 1.5mm V machined along each line where a rail would meet a stile on a traditional five-piece door. It gives you the jointed, hand-made look — the shadow line you'd get from a real frame joint — without an actual joint that can open.
Is the groove cut all the way through the face?
No. It's a shallow 45° V cut into the surface of the same one-piece board, so there's nothing to fill, no end grain exposed at the corners and nothing that moves independently. It primes and sprays like the rest of the face.
Can I have V-grooves on a door with a midrail?
Yes — the grooves follow whatever frame layout you set, so a two- or three-panel door gets a groove at each rail line as well as the stiles.
Are these made to measure?
Yes. Every door is CNC-machined one-piece from moisture-resistant MDF to your exact width and height — enter the size in the configurator and the price updates as you type.
How are they made?
From a single sheet of ultra-high-density MR MDF, so there are no mitred corner joints to open or shadow through your paint.
