Wide cove doors — bold flutes, cut from one piece

Through-section
A wide cove door is our coved door at a bigger scale: broad, shallow concave flutes about 57mm across, each separated by a fine 3mm flat, machined straight across the face. Where a narrow cove reads as texture, a wide cove reads as architecture — a handful of soft, generous shadows rather than fine ribbing.
Tell us the door size and roughly how far apart you want the flutes; we solve the count so the spacing is dead even edge to edge, and set the cutter depth to hold the same flat between every flute. It is cut into a single sheet of moisture-resistant high-density MDF, so there is nothing applied and nothing to telegraph through the paint.
What you get
- Broad concave flutes at a calculated even spacing
- A fine flat held between every flute
- One-piece ultra-high-density MR MDF — no applied mouldings
- Follows a raked or splayed head

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the Coved door?
Scale. Both are concave flutes machined into a flat sheet, but the wide cove is cut with a much larger cutter, so each flute is about twice as broad and far shallower in proportion. A narrow door carries a few bold flutes rather than many fine ones.
How do you decide how many flutes a door gets?
You give us roughly the spacing you want and we solve the count, so the flutes land dead even from edge to edge rather than leaving a part-flute at one side. The cutter depth is solved with it, so the flat between flutes stays the same at whatever spacing you end up with.
Is the fluting applied, or cut into the door?
Cut. The flutes are machined straight into a single sheet of high-density MR MDF, so there are no applied mouldings to lift at the ends or telegraph a glue line through the paint.
Are these made to measure?
Yes. Every door is CNC-machined one-piece from moisture-resistant MDF to your exact width and height — enter the size in the configurator and the price updates as you type.
How are they made?
From a single sheet of ultra-high-density MR MDF, so there are no mitred corner joints to open or shadow through your paint.
Do the doors come primed or painted?
Neither — every door is supplied sanded. We machine it from moisture-resistant MDF and then sand the faces, edges, panels and mouldings to 240 grit, so it arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your primer. Seal it with a primer made for MDF before your top coat, and paint it any colour you like.
